International. Milestone Systems made the official presentation of the 2019 R2 version of its XProtect software.
Among the updates present in the new version is a simpler process to work and obtain trial licenses: they can now be obtained directly from the Milestone Customer Dashboard. Partners can evaluate, test and use, as a demonstration, XProtect software for one year without having to purchase it in advance.
The 2019 R2 release also expands the audio capability in the XProtect Web Client by adding support for broadcasting ads to multiple speakers connected to the camera at the same time, so that staff can use the XProtect Web Client for mass communication to warn a crowd or make promotional announcements.
In addition, the 2019 R2 version includes improvements to XProtect Mobile, by incorporating audio support to the innovative Video Push function. The addition of this audio support allows users to generate even more robust documentation of incidents, even at the time they are occurring.
With the 2019 R2 release, device passwords can be managed by individual device or by group of devices, directly from the XProtect Management Client. This makes it easier and more agile to protect device security and address potential vulnerabilities, ensuring the best possible end-to-end XProtect security, eliminating both the ability to generate self-signed certificates on the XProtect Mobile server and the option to use self-signed certificates on the XProtect Mobile client. End users are assured that XProtect Mobile meets the highest security standard in the industry, with exclusive use of certificates signed by a certificate authority (CA).
