Colombia. This 2019, the International E+S+S Security Fair will celebrate its 25 years of realization, in the event that will take place from July 2 to 5 in the city of Bogotá.
The event began as a networking need for the sector in 1994. In this regard, Patricia Acosta, director of the Fair, commented that "our first edition was inaugurated with the then Minister of Defense Fernando Botero, as a purely private initiative, which lasted four days, 45 exhibitors participated and nearly 5,000 visitors attended."
He added that initially they had scheduled it to be held every two years: 1996 and 1998, dates in which they had 5,500 visitors. Already by the year 2000 they were integrated with Corferias in the framework of the International Fair of Bogotá until 2013. Subsequently, thanks to a 50% growth in exhibitors and attendees, they were transferred to the Great Hall responding to the needs of the industry, companies, the end user, the CEO of the company and managers, among others.
Under this scenario, Acosta said that "security should be seen as an investment, not an expense, it should be something that permeates the productivity of companies. That is why we celebrate our 25 years with pride, ratifying that security is a priority and transversal need to all sectors of national production, because the defense of corporate heritage depends on it".
The director of the fair said that the objective is met year after year and this new edition will not be the exception, as it will have four new sectors such as command and control centers, security and private surveillance, connected vehicles and cybersecurity; added to the realization of the Strategic Security Thinking Forum that will take place on July 3 within the framework of the Fair.
The event foresees the attendance of 15,000 visitors, the participation of 200 direct exhibitors, 200 represented brands, 16 countries, and the realization of the Strategic Security Thinking Forum.
