In Infosecurity Mexico 2019 they highlighted cybersecurity as a priority in national security

Mexico. During the Infosecurity Mexico 2019, event was held on May 22 and 23 in Mexico City, the importance of cybersecurity was highlighted, including as a primary issue within the national security agenda.

"This is a relevant issue for citizens in general, for the public sector, for the private sector, and above all for the government, since computer assets and resources must be subject to advanced protection policies. Currently, the digitalization of processes and the economy require greater protection in view of the increase in cybercrime, a forum like Infosecurity Mexico offers the opportunity to access the most advanced knowledge and knowledge of cutting-edge technology to prepare for any eventuality in that regard, "said Juan Manuel Rodríguez Ospina, show director of the event at the time of opening.  

During the inauguration of Infosecurity Mexico, Oliver González Barrales, Chief Commissioner of the Coordination for the Prevention of Electronic Crimes of the Federal Police; Eduardo Acosta, INTERPOL Digital Crime Officer; Ruben Quintero, Vice President of the Information Systems Audit and Control Association; and Ignacio Sotelo, President of the Mexican Association of Cybersecurity.

At the beginning of the activities of Infosecurity Mexico, Juan Manuel Rodriguez pointed out that this exhibition has focused on promoting a culture of prevention and combating cybercrime, offering a high-level training space, "which we carry out every year, when we convene CISOs and IT directors in search of innovative solutions to protect companies and institutions, which has placed us as a benchmark within the sector of new technologies".

In this edition, visitors had the opportunity to learn about the technological offer of leading companies in their segment, such as Dark Trace, Microsoft, Trend Micro, Hp, Debug Experts, Y Systems, Manage Engine, Radware, Check Point and Mcafee, among others that add up to more than eighty companies showing innovations in cyber protection.

The event was attended by Garry Kasparov, a security ambassador and world chess champion. Also, among the different talks participated international speakers such as Eddie Doyle of Check Point, Adrián Eduardo Acosta of Interpol and national speakers such as Omar Castañón Sánchez of Mexichem and Roberto Flores of Metlife.

"Together, each of the organizations, companies and institutions that participate in this exhibition, seek to make cybersecurity and information protection a priority in Mexico and the world. We are convinced to continue to be, in the coming years, a meeting point for professionals and to offer them a high-level educational program and an exhibition floor with the latest trends and the best brands in the industry. And we are sure that we will do better and better," concluded the show director of Infosecurity Mexico.

The event was attended by 70 exhibiting companies and more than 2,000 visitors. It had 20 Smart Defense Arena practical sessions, 10 Infosecurity Coffee workshops, 11 Infosecurity Summit keynotes and 3 Special Technology Labs events.
