Axis Communications grew by 19% in the last year

International. Axis Communications announced that during the year 2018 it reached in sales close to US$ 1.1 billion, which represents a growth of 19% in the last year. The company also reported that during that period they incorporated 388 new employees around the world, an average of more than one per day. In the last quarter of the year alone, the company reached USD 316.6 million.

"The year 2018 presented various challenges such as the scarcity of global components, trade restrictions and increased competitiveness. Despite this, we have surpassed our previous sales record, both in the last quarter and in the year," said Axis Communications CEO Ray Mauritsson. According to him, the team's growth should continue, "We expect an even higher recruitment rate in 2019, as we will have a new headquarters in Lund, Sweden," he adds.

In South America, the company's network of resellers received 476 new resale partners throughout 2018, expanding the brand's reach and bringing technological innovation to a greater number of cities.

"In South America, many of our partners already understood the advantages of offering more comprehensive projects to their customers, including video analytics, IP audio and IP access control. In practice, the market has sought to differentiate its proposals, either using radar technology or using on-board applications for perimeter protection. This expansion of the scope of the projects is reflected both in the turnover of the resellers and in the loyalty of their customers, "says Alessandra Faria, Director of Axis for South America. "Our growth in South America is also due to a movement of system integrators to care about quality and long-term commitment relationships," he adds.

According to the executive, the business formula will be maintained in the 2019 strategy. "We will continue this year to bring innovation to the market so that various sectors can imagine new technological possibilities, including Cities, Retail, Transport, Education, Health and Critical Infrastructure."

In addition to growth, the year was also characterized by development and innovation. Axis introduced new products and solutions to the market that drove the company's growth. The manufacturer also opened a new office in the city of Linköping, which will focus on the development of new software. As planned, there will be more than 100 collaborators working on that mission in the coming years.
