Three aspects in which it benefits to have an Intelligent Infrastructure

Latin America. Cities are becoming denser and more connected than ever, especially as people rely more on smart technology to perform their daily activities.

There are currently about 8.4 billion devices connected to the network and it is expected that by 2020 there will be 17,000 million more, making this a huge challenge that administrators must begin to contemplate from now on. To make this growth sustainable, service providers have sought to innovate in smart solutions that guarantee the connectivity and availability that users demand.

"The Internet of Things will bring a technological revolution that will lead service providers to make their networks even more efficient and innovate in solutions that guarantee to support a high density of connected things, which in some cases will demand higher data transmission speeds and much lower latency, preparing the way for the arrival of technologies such as 5G, "which in some cases will demand higher data transmission speeds and much lower latency, preparing the way for the arrival of technologies such as 5G, "The Internet of Things will bring about a high density of things," mentioned Andrés Vega, Technical Sales Manager, Mobility Network Engineering at CommScope. "But these needs will also bring solutions that will make your infrastructure a 'Smart Infrastructure' that will represent great benefits."

The implementation of HD cameras, more Wi-Fi access points, the deployment of larger optical networks, as well as other devices connected to the network, are some examples of the challenges that exist today; however, there are bigger benefits that deploying smart infrastructure can have:

Adaptability: Reducing the number of separate systems helps ensure a decrease in cost, complexity and disruption of connectivity, as well as being much more adaptable to expand support systems as the modern environment transforms. This convergence makes the computer easy to manipulate and manage, without complex complications when you inevitably upgrade and upgrade your Wi-Fi plan, and still be secure on your own private network.

Efficiency: The different systems and countless hours of work that are constantly employed to achieve prolonged improvements will be replaced at the touch of a button. "For example, traditional lighting methods in smart buildings would be replaced by low-voltage solutions, with an exponentially lower cost due to simpler installation, maintenance and operation. Simplicity not only saves energy and trouble, but also reduces costs," added Jorge Flores, Account Manager at CommScope.

Safety: Smart infrastructure will also help, through wireless solutions, to offer security and reliability within buildings. As in a smart city, a basement will be as reliable as the attic: in a connected world, every second of downtime is critical.

"Smart technology will also provide proactive solutions, which are able to anticipate problems and errors before they can hurt further. Environmental hazards and potential unsafe conditions will be detected more quickly with more reliable, high-definition surveillance cameras that can notify surrounding and at-risk personnel in an emergency. We must rethink traditional solutions, explore, fulfill and imagine a new potential so that intelligent infrastructures redefine the 'possible', all this can be seen in a better way during Cisco Live 2018, "concluded Andrés Vega, Technical Sales Manager, Mobility Network Engineering at CommScope.
