Intelligent motion detection in 3D

International. Mobotix released an improved version of MxActivitySensor. The video motion detection sensor, integrated since 2013 in the camera, filters events as relevant or irrelevant to alert about them and, in this way, reduces the number of false alarms.

This motion analysis reliably detects moving objects and does not trigger false alarms when interference such as rain, snow or moving trees and masts occur.

With mxActivitySensor 2.0,  Mobotix goes a step further: intelligent 3D motion detection also reduces the number of false alarms caused by birds or other animals in conventional motion sensors. In this way, the camera remains focused on what is important and alerts only in case of events relevant to security.

A typical example of an application is the surveillance of the roof of a warehouse. Thanks to the MxActivitySensor 2.0, a person in any position on the roof would activate the alarm, while a bird would not. Nor is the surveillance of the fences with respect to the presence of intruders neglected. If one of them were to enter the enclosure, an alarm would be triggered, but if it is the watchdog that moves, it would not.

In addition to the MxActivitySensor 2.0, available with the latest firmware version 4.4.2.34, Mobotix also offers the new MxMultiSense 4-point sensor. This allows you to detect, for example, the noise level, movement (PIR), temperature and luminosity to, in this way, complete your camera installations economically. It also allows you to monitor areas that the cameras cannot record.

Mobotix has also started the year with the introduction, for the first time, of a network switch compatible with PoE+. MxSwitch is a compact rail module with which up to four video intercoms, cameras or other Mobotix PoE/PoE+ devices can be connected directly to the power and thus supplied. It is particularly suitable for the IP installation of small equipment and, thanks to its low height, guarantees a simple and fast assembly in any control cabinet. For example, when installing a fully pre-configured T25 Smart Access Set 2, MxSwitch also ensures that there is less need for wiring. This kit is a comfortable, safe and easy to put into operation solution that has an innovative Smart Home technology especially suitable for single-family homes and small businesses.
