Fortinet will hold the forum "CyberSecurity Summit 2016"

Colombia. Fortinet presents in Colombia the Fortinet CyberSecurity Summit (FCS16), a forum that aims to empower executives of Colombian companies with the necessary information that allows them to face the great challenge of Cybersecurity from a positive and Integral perspective in the context of Digital Transformation.

In the framework of the FCS16 event, which will take place in Bogotá this May 17 and in the city of Medellín on May 19, Fortinet will present analysis on the impact of Cybersecurity on the Digital Society, explain why investing in technology helps business growth, describe the state of security of companies, will highlight the best practices implemented at the national level and  finally evaluate whether Colombia is prepared in terms of cybersecurity professionals.

"The digital economy represents both great opportunities and threats, if these are not understood and controlled in a timely manner they can reach the point of compromising the very existence of organizations, because behind these threats there is a whole ecosystem of cybercriminals," said Pedro Paixão, general manager for Latam de Fortinet. "Today, with widely disseminated phenomena such as the IoT (Internet of Things), Big Data, Cloud and Social Business, it is very difficult to differentiate the physical world from the digital one, and in the case of organizations the external world from the inside, because the borders in time, distance or device have ceased to exist."

Phenomena such as the Internet, mobility and consumerization, to mention a few examples, have radically changed the way in which organizations live, socialize and do business. Being online and making use of technology has gone from being a luxury or competitive differential to being a necessity in any area of the lives of people and organizations.

Therefore, the event offers digital security experts the opportunity to share information on recent threat trends, as well as best practices and tips to develop new approaches in Cybersecurity issues with professionals in systems engineering. In addition, FSC16 will base its format on a full day of lectures, panel discussions, workshops and 1:1 sessions that will give attendees the opportunity to hear the vision and experiences of industry leaders while exchanging views in a unique and executive environment.
