Argentina. Axis Communications presented what actions it will carry out in Argentina together with its partners, in the face of the great expectation of growth in the sectors of citizen surveillance, banking, transport, prisons and private neighborhoods, the main verticals at the local level.
With a presence of more than 8 years in South America, Axis sets long-term objectives to continue promoting in the market the migration from analog to digital technology, both in electronic security and in access control and other markets. During 2015 Axis incorporated 81 new companies in its channel program only in Argentina, which allowed it to expand its presence in provinces such as Tucumán, Santa Fé, Salta, Entre Ríos, Mendoza, Córdoba and Río Negro, among others.
Also in 2015, Axis sales globally grew by 22%. The company closed the year with 2,139 employees, with the opening of new offices in Kenya, Macau and Ireland, to name just a few examples. In the Americas, a region that accounts for approximately 50% of Axis' total worldwide sales, the company achieved 20% growth in the last quarter of the year.
In addition to covering projects in the SME sector, Axis will continue to invest to develop others of high complexity, as was the recent case of the cameras installed in the Iguazu Falls, and the system adopted by Sodimac in its store in La Plata, as well as different video surveillance projects implemented by different closed neighborhoods of Greater Buenos Aires. For 2016, Axis expects further growth as a result of the expectation of more open and flexible import policies.
It should be noted that the firm concluded 2015 with a total of 4,492 channels in South America, which allowed it to strengthen its presence and bet on new projects. "Argentina today demonstrates a strong potential to assume a greater role at the regional level, and technology companies will know how to take advantage of this opportunity to expand their businesses and, consequently, develop the local market," said Alessandra Faria, Regional Director of Axis.
Finally, Axis will hold this year's Axis Academy training in Buenos Aires, on two occasions: from May 10 to 12, and from August 30 to September 1. It consists of a face-to-face training course for professionals in the sector, which allows them to obtain knowledge about the latest technologies applied to products, and in this way to develop more modern projects and at the height of the needs of the current market.
Axis executives present were Alessandra Faria, Regional Director; Marcelo Ponte, Regional Manager of Distribution and Marketing; and Juan Pablo Tavil, Distribution Manager for Hispanic Countries.
