Latin America. A recent IHS report on the pedestrian safety revenue market for the period 2012-2014 determined that Boon Edam was the market leader, by a considerably wide margin, in the Americas. The category in which the company won refers to "pedestrian entry control equipment" and includes all types of security doors, turnstiles and gates.
Significant increase in market share.
The report reveals an increase of about 7% for the Americas region. This compared to the report published in 2013 by IHS. This leading position means 26.8% of the market, about three times the figure of the nearest competitor.
The IHS report, titled "The Pedestrian Entry Control Equipment Market (2015)," studies and analyzes various types of products, including security doors, security revolving doors, security booths (dual-door security systems), and quick access control barriers.
For the year 2014, the report found that Boon Edam was the undisputed leader in the segment of security doors, revolving doors and safety cabins in more than 50% of the market share for the three types of products.
The report shows increases in market share of 8%, 9% and 10%, respectively, for each type of product. The company achieved close to a 5% increase in market share in rapid access control barriers in the Americas and is now among the top three vendors with a share of nearly 20% of the market.
