Colombia. From January to December 2015, a group of 662 companies in South America began offering products from Axis Communications, the Swedish company, manufacturer of video surveillance. The growth represents an average of nearly 13 new channels each week, and points to market interest in high-quality electronic security solutions.
During 2015, 83 companies in Colombia joined forces with Axis' network of channels, expanding the brand's presence in the departments of Casanare, Antioquia, Santander, Bolívar, Valle del Cauca, Cundinamarca, Atlántico, Quindío, Risaralda and Bolívar, among others.
Demonstrating the decentralization of its presence in the country, Axis disclosed this year the emblematic video surveillance project for the Unicentro Medellín Shopping Center, carried out by the integrator E4 S.A.S, a partner of Axis since 2013.
The entry of new partners into the channel network came amid an ongoing effort to educate and train the market – as many of the startups had no experience in the digital or IP video surveillance sector. "At Axis we always care about training and educating the market, this allows us to get more and more people to know the technologies that are available and that not only provide security, but also many video analytics options for greater performance and application of the equipment," says Alessandra Faria, Regional Director of Axis Communications.
Additionally, in this period the company encouraged its software partners to develop analytics that would be integrated into smart cameras to create Business Intelligence tools and solve common challenges in different sectors. This resulted in the incorporation into the region of 20 new software partners, in addition to the 50 that were already partners of the company.
For this year, the company intends to continue expanding its network of channels in South America with the incorporation of new partners, currently has 4,492. "Axis will continue in the objective of conquering more and more channels so that the natural process of migration of analog systems to IP can raise the security standard in our region"concludes Alessandra Faria.
