Colombia. Ikusi is undertaking in Huila the second phase of this security project that was once the first implementation of Armadillo, Ikusi's own security solution, in Latin America.
In the months in which the system has been operational, the authorities have validated its usefulness and have decided to extend it to five other new municipalities, in which 25 surveillance cameras will be installed: Barayá, Hobo, Tello, Villavieja and Yaguará.
The expansion of the project also includes the incorporation of new capabilities to improve its functionality and operability. Thus, the Armadillo version will be updated, providing the system with decentralized recording capabilities and "federation" functionalities.
The decentralized recording will allow an additional step in the continuity of communications between the municipalities where the cameras are installed and the Control Center, located in Neiva. On the other hand, the "federation" capacity will make it possible to supervise and monitor different security systems installed in different locations from a single control center in an easy and simple way, optimizing the human resources that manage security and allowing to scale the management of incidents. With federation, multiple and independent Armadillo systems can be unified under a single virtual system. An ideal solution for urban video surveillance in an entire city or several cities, as is the case here, and the administration of central monitoring services where multiple independent clients can be monitored centrally, while supporting the independence of local security operations.
The "federation" constitutes a powerful and advanced architecture that synchronizes cameras, alarms, and all kinds of events between the different locations, without the intervention of security personnel. In this way, it is no longer necessary to perform synchronizations or manual warnings between sites but these are carried out automatically, significantly improving the capacity of the system as a whole.
