International. Tyco Security Products has released version 4.8, the latest version of the victor Video Management System (VMS) and video video recorders (NVRs). This release incorporates new investigative tools to further simplify incident reporting for high-workload surveillance operators.
The latest version of victor allows operators to quickly generate and edit video clips of a specific incident, reducing the time needed to search for video evidence to a few minutes instead of hours. Using new clip creation and editing capabilities, operators can split, cut, crop, delete, and add video segments to a clip, while adding information directly to the image to better document actions occurring in the scene. These new incident management tools enable faster and more efficient case reports to be created for internal and external law enforcement investigations.
When operators are following a person, they can use victor's surveillance window recording tool to more easily collect all related video clips in a single file to capture the entire incident, without having to collect the clips individually from different recorders. All video streamed in a selected arrangement can be simultaneously recorded in a single video file for export or internal viewing.
"The ability to collect the right evidence quickly and efficiently immediately after an incident is a critical time saver in building a case," explains Mauricio Cañas, Product and Marketing Manager of Tyco Security Products' Video Line for Latin America. "These latest enhancements to the powerful victor platform offer enterprise-grade, industry-leading research and productivity tools. The intuitive interface has been designed to maximize the resources of the mission-critical control room environment and time and operator."
The new scheduled clip download tool allows operators to schedule automatic recovery of recurring clips they need to review every day, saving bandwidth and freeing operators from the time they spend queuing up the videos they want to download. With the programmed clip download tool, users can customize the duration of the clip, saving the location and expiration of the clip. Users can also create and save custom surveillance arrangements. Beyond standard arrays, users can now define the number of rows, columns, and aspect ratio, and combine cells to create the view that best suits their specific needs. Enterprise customers can apply corporate brand image to disabled watch panels for added customization options.
In addition, victor offers enhanced camera management capabilities, including 360° spherical correction from the client for fisheye panoramic cameras available for exacqVision network video recorders. Client-side spherical correction allows recording a single video stream eliminating the possibility and need for redundant recording, allowing users to zoom in and through the image to see more details.
Users can specify the minimum and maximum recording rate of the cameras and receive notifications about the specified levels through the VideoEdge Hybrid NVR client and VideoEdge NVR or through victor. This offers VideoEdge customers automated monitoring of the recorders to ensure optimal storage capacity.
