Argentina. The firms are fighting for the tender of the system to be installed in 150 units. It is expected to be launched in stages until June 2016. The registry will store images for 24 months.
In total, eight companies submitted their bids to compete for the tender for the video surveillance system for public passenger transport. The objective is that from June 2016 about 150 urban passenger transport groups, which operate during the night service, will be monitored with a system of cameras connected to 911 and the Monitoring Center of the municipality.
The operation of the system that will have four devices per car with a record that will store images will be for a period of 24 months, through a public investment of 20 million pesos.
Last Friday, the Mobility Agency received the specifications of the eight firms interested in being awarded the provision of the 600 video surveillance cameras that will be installed in 150 groups of the night service of urban passenger transport.
The call contemplates the installation and commissioning of an ambient microphone, panic button and four video surveillance cameras for each car, as well as the integral maintenance service of the system.
The project has an official budget of 20 million pesos, and was developed jointly by the Mobility Agency of Rosario and the contribution of the provincial government.
The bidding companies that were presented were: Xiden, Plettac Electronics Argentina, ADT Security Service, Conexys, Global View, Telecom Argentina, Quality Systems Group and Crayon Web.
Deadlines. From now on the municipality opens the period of challenges between the eight companies presented, while an evaluation commission will analyze the basic documentation. If there are no delays and surprises, the envelope will be opened with the technical offers, and then the envelope will be passed with the economic proposals.
"We believe that this whole process should be completed before the end of the year, and then proceed to the signing of the corresponding contract," said the manager of the local Mobility Entity, Mónica Alvarado.
According to the official, the first delivery of the cameras and computer equipment and connectivity should be completed in 60 days for the first 50 units.
Then, and according to the contract, two subsequent deliveries should be made for six months until the 150 units of the three concessionaire companies (La Mixta, Semtur and Rosario Bus) are completed.
The contracting of the service will be for 24 months and for a part of the local fleet composed of about 700 collectives.
