Mexico. The Diocese of Aguascalientes installed video surveillance cameras to prevent robberies in temples and churches.
"They are in strategic places, you see here in the parishes, right now I do not know, the number of how many parishes they already have, and alarm, they have alarm in the same temple," said Carlos Alvarado, spokesman for the Diocese of Aguascalientes
These cameras record all the people who enter the parishes or who are outside them.
This surveillance seeks to prevent people who go to church from being victims of crime.
The diocese of Aguascalientes is made up of more than 215 parishes located in Zacatecas, Jalisco and Aguascalientes and it is intended that soon all will have security cameras.
"In the same notaries, the offices, are means that the church also uses to protect the sacred, protect the heritage of the church and protect what is theirs," said Carlos Alvarado, spokesman for the Diocese of Aguascalientes.
Data from the Attorney General's Office of the State of Aguascalientes reveal that so far this year eight robberies have been reported, one of them to the bishopric.
