Mexico. As a result of the multihomicide in the Narvarte neighborhood, the functionality of the surveillance cameras of the Safe City Bicentennial Project is questioned. It has been recorded that 20 thousand electronic eyes monitor the capital 24 hours a day, however, many of them do not work.
The same prosecutor, Rodolfo Ríos Garza, reported that some of the cameras located in the Narvarte neighborhood, where the multihomicide happened, did not work.
The Video Surveillance System is in charge of the Center for Emergency Care and Citizen Protection of Mexico City, which has a Command, Control, Communications, Computing, Intelligence, Integration, Information and Research Center (C4i4), 5 Command and Control Centers (C2), 2 Mobile Command and Control Centers (C2 Mobile).
More than 70% of the surveillance cameras installed in Mexico City have a help button.
