Argentina. The surveillance cameras installed by the municipality in different parts of Bariloche allowed to observe 300 events that include fires, accidents, illicit and other eventualities so far this year.
The information provided by the municipality indicated that the Municipal Monitoring Center last week managed to visualize an attempted robbery in a business and an activated system of "early warning" allowed rapid police action and prevent crime.
In January, the municipal monitoring system began operating in parallel to that offered by the Province's Emergency System, which has its own base of operations in the Civic Center through 911.
The Police also have cameras and visual information that analyze 24 hours a day, as well as the municipality that as a result of its task gives notice to the force or offers the recorded material to the Justice.
The operators of the municipality, who have a coverage in shifts with 6 agents, when observing an event that requires police intervention or emergency services, give notice to the emergency numbers 911, 102 (in case of gender violence), to the firefighters, Civil Defense or the Traffic Directorate as the case may be.
