Peŕu. A total of 150 new surveillance cameras will be implemented in six areas of the Cercado in August to reinforce citizen security actions. The Municipality of Lima reported that there are 13 companies registered to participate in the tender, which began on June 8.
The process is in the stage of acquittal of consultations and formulation of observations, a period in which the Supervisory Body for State Procurement (OSCE) intervenes. "The culminating phase will be the granting of the good pro, planned, at the latest, in the fortnight of August," said the municipality.
In the bases of the tender it has been established that the winning company will have the obligation to train in the use of these cameras the personnel of the Citizen Security Management of Lima, National Police and Volunteer Firefighters.
The Municipality of Lima indicated that, through the Metropolitan Investment Fund (Invermet), it has been carrying out the necessary evaluations to place more surveillance cameras in districts that register a higher crime rate.
These teams will also serve to monitor the state of traffic in the city, helping to make better decisions to address the transportation problem.
