Mexico. The acquisition of new security cameras for the municipality of Tehuacán has suffered a delay due to acts of corruption, since the companies interested in providing the devices have not offered "an additional contribution" to workers of the Commune, acknowledged the councilor of the Interior, Abraham Aguilar Sánchez.
He pointed out that several companies have shown proposals for the devices in question, some of them have offered quality artifacts at affordable prices.
Despite this situation, according to local media, a contract has not been finalized because those responsible for the purchase (without having specified the name of the official or officials responsible) request "an extra contribution".
The issue of security cameras was addressed in the security meeting that took place last Monday, at the meeting, the mayor, Ernestina Fernández Méndez, touched on the problem for a few seconds, later, left the topic to the consideration of the shopping area.
Currently, the City Council has 120 video surveillance cameras in the main streets of Tehuacán, of which 108 work correctly, which is equivalent to 90 percent.
Despite their functionality, they have certain deficiencies due to the model and the evolution of technology, that is, they lack applications such as night vision, higher resolution or image zoom .
