Boon Edam opens its first sales and service office in New York

International. Boon Edam Inc. announced the opening of an office from which all the company's services will be offered in the Manhattan district of New York City, on Broadway Avenue. It is the first time the company has expanded its operations to a location in the United States outside of Lillington, North Carolina, where its headquarters are located. The office will be located just north of the famous Flatiron Building at 1140 Broadway and will begin commercial activities on May Day.

The New York sales office will allow Joel Johnson, Boon Edam's Business Development Manager for the N.Y. area, to conduct educational presentations, business meetings and product demonstrations in a central, high-visibility location aimed at Boon Edam customers in the region. The office will feature a spacious meeting area, as well as a product showroom where there will be a Tourlock 180+90 revolving security door, a Circlelock safety lock and the full range of turnstiles of the state-of-the-art Speedlane Lifeline Series, which will be launched in North America on April 15 at the ISC West international safety fair, in Las Vegas.

In order to provide greater support to its customers in the N.Y. metropolitan area, Boon Edam hired Charles Smith as Technical Manager, who will be in charge of an installation and technical service team that will be responsible for covering this area. The new team will provide assistance in the installation, commissioning and ongoing maintenance of Boon Edam's access products, as well as offer free technical training and certification to distribution partners in the area.

"The density of buildings and the vast expanse of the New York metropolitan area has always represented an incredible opportunity for us, which we have only superficially seized up to this point," said Mark Borto, CEO of Boon Edam Inc. "In New York there are thousands of buildings in a climate known for its very cold winters, all in the midst of the growing need for physical security imposed by today's world. Our revolving doors provide customers with a measurable return on investment, creating comfortable interiors that at the same time allow for energy savings, while our security accesses and turnstiles can prevent unauthorized persons from entering protected areas."

"In addition to our area distributors, the new sales office and field service team can use their entire track record to significantly grow our business in this competitive market. Investing in an office in Manhattan is a sign of how committed we are to offering excellent availability and agility of response. Now we can meet with our customers, according to their needs, to demonstrate and determine the most appropriate access solutions for their replication, with the peace of mind that comes from knowing that our technical team is there to ensure their long-term satisfaction. For years we have been contemplating investing in New York and we are excited that the time has finally come to take this big step."
