Argentina. In a few days, the Municipality of Hurlingham will begin with the installation of another 40 security cameras to the municipal monitoring system and thus reach a total of 203 teams.
From the Municipality they assure that they already exceed the average of one camera per thousand inhabitants, one of the objectives pursued in general by the districts. In addition, the installation in 2014 of a fiber optic line allows them to improve the quality of the images. They now define where to locate the new equipment based on crime map data.
"In a few weeks we will reach 203, between the fixed security cameras, the domes and those in front of the dependencies, such as the Municipal Palace, the Stadium, the San Bernardino Hospital, the Eye Center, the Dental and others," explains Jorge Zapata, Secretary of Security of the Municipality.
Of that total, which is monitored from the Municipal Operations Center (COM), at Boulevard O'Brien 858, 35 are domes and the last 65 installed are full HD. For this control, the Commune had eight operated per shift, plus two permanent relays that give rest every half hour to a visualizer. "There is also an operator supervisor who coordinates with 911 and a chief of operations who communicates by radio with mobiles, ambulances, police and the Community Prevention Command (CPC)," they add from the Municipality.
Beyond the 40 new devices to be installed, from the Commune they affirm that today the entire Roca Avenue, from the Morón stream to the Camino de Buen Ayre, is monitored. Also Vergara Avenue, which starts on the Autopista del Oeste, on the border with Morón and reaches Buen Ayre. Another controlled avenue is Jauretche, from the Vergara to Roca, the banking areas and the railway crossings, which in Hurlingham are many by the passage of the San Martín and the Urquiza. "Last year there was an extensive fiber optic laying, which allowed to improve the technology and double the resolution of the cameras," says Zapata.
