Latin America. HID Global announced that it has been listed as a Silver Partner in Samsung's Enterprise Alliance Program (SEAP). This alliance brings to Samsung's broad product sales and marketing ecosystem the company's award-winning HID Mobile Access solution, used to open doors using smartphones, and the HID Trusted Tag Services solution that allows reliable identifications to be incorporated into everyday objects for "Internet of Things" applications.
"HID Global is pleased to be able to work with Samsung to bring exciting new secure identification features to its smartphone customers," said Debra Spitler, Vice President of Strategic Alliances at HID Global. "Helping users transform their Samsung smartphones into trusted credentials will open the door to a new era of functionality in which endless applications will be possible, from opening doors without the need for a key or smart card, to authenticating objects in a growing range of use cases and applications."
HID Mobile Access allows customers to use Samsung Galaxy and Samsung Note smartphones, equipped with Bluetooth Smart and NFC (Near Field Communication) technology, to open doors by "pressing" the phone against a door reader or electronic lock. The solution also allows users to access doors and gates remotely via Bluetooth Smart and the company's proprietary "Twist and Go" gesture recognition technology.
Samsung devices also support the HID Mobile Access configuration app, which is used by system installers to quickly dial and enter and optimize the range of Bluetooth-enabled iCLASS SE® readers, based on environmental conditions. The company's mobile access solution offers a global, friendly deployment experience, allowing users to quickly download the HID Mobile Access app to their Samsung smart device. Administrators can also easily issue and revoke mobile IDs through the HID Secure Identity Services™ portal.
In addition to HID Mobile Access, Samsung devices can also be used with the HID Trusted Tag Services tagging solution. By combining HID's trusted tags, NFC technology and secure authentication services in the cloud, the HID Trusted Tag Services solution offers the innovative feature of incorporating unique and reliable IDs into everyday objects. Such objects can be read by Samsung smartphones with NFC technology in "proof of presence" applications, ranging from tapping on a smart sign to interact with the brand, to verifying the home visit of health personnel to a patient's residence or confirming student attendance at university campuses. The services can also be used for the protection of trademarks and other "Internet of Things" applications.
