Axis Communications announces a new series of transport-focused IP cameras that offer protection against water and dust with the ability to withstand harsh vehicular conditions such as vibrations, shocks, jumps and temperature variations, all with AXIS P39-R Camera Series. AXIS P39-R series also features a tamper alarm function that allows detection of tampering such as locking or spray painting; and Built-in recording software inside the camera.

"AXIS P39-R Series cameras is our third-generation suite of rugged cameras, designed for the environment on board vehicles and for customers who wish to upgrade to this latest version, AXIS P39-R series shares the same physical and connectivity interface as its predecessors AXIS M31-R cameras."
The cameras are specially adapted to respond quickly to changes in light levels, ensuring that high-quality images and the usability of the images are preserved. Likewise, the use of progressive scanning allows cameras to show moving objects without distortion. Traffic Lights mode helps to better distinguish the colors of traffic lights in very dark scenes.
"In addition to the train, subway and bus markets, we are seeing more and more mobile applications for this type of high-reliability camera for harsh environments including freight forwarding and freight transportation, emergencies, mining and other types of utility vehicles," Incorvati continued.
AXIS P39-R Series includes AXIS P3904-R network camera with HDTV resolution at 720p, AXIS P3905-R with HDTV resolution at 1080p and AXIS P3915-R with HDTV resolution at 1080p as well as audio-in and I/O capabilities. Each model is available with either an RJ45 male connector or a robust M12 connector and features SDHC memory support for independent video recording.
AXIS P39-R Series enables fast and reliable installation as the desired field of view and image leveling can be easily achieved using the included lens tool to direct and rotate the ball that supports the image and lens sensor. The tool can also be used to swap and focus lenses when a lens with a different angle of view is required. Cameras provide a pixel counter to verify that an object's pixel resolution matches specific requirements.
