International. Bosch Security Systems has installed a complete video security solution in the MesseTurm building, one of the most famous skyscrapers in Frankfurt.
This 63-story building, designed by famed architect Helmut Jahn and completed in 1990, houses several international companies and diplomatic offices. In addition to its numerous offices of consulates and companies, MesseTurm has a conference area, so its security requirements were very specific.
The video security solution, designed to provide security to the occupants, visitors and suppliers of this building, was implemented in full operation of the building, without having to resort to the closure of any area of the building.
The design and implementation of the video system posed several technical challenges, as the cameras did not have to interfere with the luxurious environments of the building and had to be installed without stopping daily activities in the building. In the monitoring areas, Bosch installed 40 cameras, the images of which are stored in a storage system with a capacity of 6.5 terabytes. If necessary, the operator can access images recorded several days ago.
Despite the huge storage capacity, image search is quick and easy. The intelligent video analysis and forensic search function of the Bosch Video Management System (BVMS) considerably speeds up the search using small sets of metadata instead of the images themselves, which are much larger.
The video security solution is operated through three convenient operating stations, giving security personnel a clear view of protected areas 24 hours a day, alerting them to any unusual events.
