Colombia. Security in Colombia has had a positive variation of 6%, in the comparison of the first semesters in the years 2012 and 2013, according to a study by the Directorate of Strategic Studies Statistical Information Group, attached to the Ministry of Defense of Colombia.
The analysis entitled "Achievements of the Comprehensive Security and Defense Policy for Prosperity" contains figures that gather data from the Army, Navy, Air Force and National Police.
The compilation of data carried out by the Directorate of Strategic Studies Statistical Information Group, indicates that theft from commerce, between the aforementioned periods, grew 17%, going from 7,978 cases to 9,299.
Meanwhile, theft from financial institutions presents a history of ups and downs, where the highest figure was in 2003 with 177 assaults, until 2012 when 97 were registered; but also the comparison of the first six months in the years 2012 and 2013 presents figures of 48 and 45 thefts, respectively, which in percentage means a decrease of 6%.
On the other hand, theft from residences shows a decrease of 18%, in the semesters evaluated, going from 9,362 cases in 2012 to 7,680 thefts in 2013, according to the Dijin report.
These data indicate that the growing use of security technology has managed to prevent, stop and reduce crime and that thefts from the country's organized economic sectors are gradually reduced, as will be demonstrated at the 13th International E+S+S Security Fair, which will take place in Corferias between October 9 and 11, organized by Pafyc: International Trade Fair, and the International Business and Exhibition Center, Corferias.
