Colombia. On February 15, the Municipal Administration of Chía, in the department of Cundinamarca, signed a contract with a private company for the acquisition of 25 security cameras that will reinforce the surveillance of the municipality, in addition to improvements to the monitoring center.
As reported by the municipal administration, Chía signed with the company Telepunto S.A., the Act of Initiation of Contract C 275-2012 through which 25 video surveillance cameras are acquired, also includes the contract for maintenance and repair of existing ones. The monitoring room located in Mercedes de Calahorra will also be modernized.
With the execution of this contract, the existing camera system in the Municipality will be strengthened and its installation will be done taking into account the requirements of citizens and Community Action Boards.
Improving the system will allow security agencies to be more timely in the surveillance and prevention of crime and reduce the response time and reaction to community calls.
