Mexico. The City Council of Boca del Río (Veracruz) and the State Council of Public Security, will triple the number of surveillance cameras that exist in the city with resources from the Subsidy for Municipal Public Security (Subsemun), announced the mayor of Boca del Río, Salvador Manzur Díaz.
In the framework of the "Private Security Expo" held in Boca del Río, he explained that they expect to increase the investment figure of 2012 by 30% for next year.
"We will be acquiring the number of cameras corresponding to the resource that we can obtain in matters of Subsemun but at least we will be tripling the number of cameras that will be located in the city that is an initiative that Governor Javier Duarte has taken and that undoubtedly more surveillance, more lighting, more rehabilitation of the parks goes hand in hand with greater security, so we will be working with the State Public Security Council," he added.
He said that in agreement with the head of the executive secretariat of the State Council of Public Security, Jorge Uscanga Escobar, it was planned to acquire more video surveillance cameras to cover the remaining points of the city, although he did not specify how many they will buy or the number of existing ones.
"We will be investing heavily in cameras that will be placed throughout the city with resources from The Subsemun, we will be investing more in programs for parents, young people, apple heads, parks, schools, it is a very important, very ambitious program that aims to maintain an environment of security and stability in the city," he said.
