Mexico. Through a software that stores the electronic records of patients taking as a reference their fingerprints, the Institute of Security and Social Services for Workers at the Service of the Powers of the State (ISSSTEP), in Veracruz, will take the clinical records of patients and make the payment of pensions, as a measure to avoid fraud.
Roberto Rivero Trewartha, general director of this entity, said that this program helps to carry out a correct follow-up of the pensions of ISSSTEP members, and with this avoid irregular collections, such as those detected in the previous administration where payments to people who had already died were in force.
It is necessary for the pensioner to put his fingerprints to be able to know the months he has been contributing and, with this, determine the amount of deposit that will be made, so the program works as a "lock" to avoid mismanagement of the system, said the director.
So far, around 74,000 of the 180,000 members of ISSSTEP already have their electronic file, and it is expected that by next year all the beneficiaries will be in the system.
