Peru. The Municipality of Independencia, as reported by Mayor Evans Sifuentes, will have next July a video surveillance center equipped with 46 cameras that will protect the most insecure places in its jurisdiction 24 hours a day.
This will be possible thanks to a competitive fund of the Ministry of Economy and Finance as explained by the burgomaster, who pointed out that the lack of budget is one of the main problems of its management.
"The serenity service has only 150 personnel and 13 cars, and cannot increase the number of any due to lack of budget, because tax collection has a delinquency of 70%," he noted.
The money from the competitive fund will also allow changing the energy matrix of serenity cars, such as improving communication antennas and security equipment.
Meanwhile, through the participatory budget, it will also allocate an important budget for the purchase of special walkie talkie equipment with which it can align itself with the communication system of the Ministry of the Interior and the municipality of Metropolitan Lima.
