Ecuador. Guayaquil, Ecuador's most populous city , will install 600 new security cameras in various parts of the city. This investment is part of ojos de águila, a video surveillance system of the Corporación para la Seguridad Ciudadana of this town.
The president of this entity, Gustavo Zúñiga said that "with the location of these devices it is sought to close spaces to crime."
These devices will have on average similar characteristics, such as those of a viewing range of up to two kilometers, automatic viewfinder cleaning devices and the ability to rotate 360°.
The installation points were completed thanks to a study that managed to identify the most vulnerable points of the city. These cameras will join the eagle-eye devices and the ECU-911 as the main security systems in this population.
In addition, "the cantonal council of Guayaquil approved an ordinance that provides for the external installation of security systems in public and private institutions; business owners will be notified to install the security systems that will be acquired independently," Zuñiga said.
