Mexico. The company Melter S.A de C.V, dedicated to the manufacture of water-cooled elements and systems of the steel industry, used the video surveillance systems of the company Vivotek to meet the security parameters required in the 635,000 square feet of its facilities.
The company located in the city of Monterrey, installed 50 pieces for its network of cameras to have a complete coverage of its premises. The work was carried out by Vivotek in conjunction with the integration company Novalan.
The equipment installed varies from those specialized in outdoor, zoom, IR lighting and high contrast conditions, to those designed for indoors and high-definition video capture, distributed according to the security needs of each area.
The project came to fruition as more than 60% of Melter's products are exported to the rest of america and C-TPAT, a voluntary government and business program to establish cooperation and improvements in U.S. international relations. In the U.S., it requires participating companies to have a video surveillance system that covers sensitive areas of security.
Before installation, the building only had a few analog cameras distributed on only a few floors of the infrastructure.
