Colombia. The 138,000 square meters that make up the two towers of the Bancolombia group's headquarters, in the city of Medellín, are now monitored by Axis video surveillance cameras. The determination was made after identifying the concepts that should harmonize the control of the building; thus, convergence, integration, flexibility, scalability and standardization were some of the characteristics that the group found in Axis solutions.
In total, 487 cameras were implemented; AXIS 211 448; AXIS 221 model 31 and AXIS 233D reference 8. Its distribution was made through 10 servers (1500 Giga bits for each server), which operate under a convergent and integrated network and, in addition to delivering images to an analytical video system, work in conjunction with access control, evacuation and elevator systems.
For Diego Córdoba, Engineer and Project Manager of the Bancolombia Group, "Axis video surveillance solutions align with the philosophy of the building. Thanks to this, it was possible, in a simple way, to integrate the solution into the general management system of the building, allowing to keep track of the critical areas that the bank considers should be subject to continuous control".
Other characteristics that the group awards to the surveillance park is that despite having obtained the best results during the technical test, they are compatible with Honeywell's EBI platform. In this way, together, they have allowed to improve the productivity of the control and surveillance equipment.
The organization also said that within future projects, the company plans to implement new Axis video surveillance camera systems in other buildings in the city of Medellín, reaching a wider park of devices.
The above, because "the results have been as expected and the company gained in security since the solution provides additional information, which offers the opportunity to control various situations such as an open door and window or abandoned objects anywhere in the building, among other aspects," added Córdoba.
