United States. The Musical Instrument Museum (MIM, Phoenix, Arizona) will now be overseen by Genetec's IP video surveillance system.
The Omnicast manages more than 200 Axis Communications and InterlogixTM IP cameras and several analog cameras connected via encoders, allowing museum staff to focus their attention on high-risk pieces.
For Justin Karim, head of security at MIM, "Omnicast has met our needs as it has a flexibility particularly suited to the museum environment, where exhibits change places and security needs are different."
This system also allows remote monitoring and configuration of internal access, providing an additional level of security to the collection of more than ten thousand musical instruments and artifacts expanded throughout the 190,000 square feet of internal space.
