United States. The Townsend Hotel, a four-star Forbe and AAA Four Diamond establishment located in Birmingham, in suburban Detroit, now features a system of wireless and autonomous Saflok locks that are powered by an AA battery.Nearly 200 Saflok Quantum™ ädesē™ radio frequency identification (RFID) locks, smart card readers and contactless, were installed in the accommodation for the convenience and safety of guests and the hotel. The locks operate from the reception using a Windows-based communication system, the Messenger Saflok, a wireless and bidirectional solution.
The communication system works under an internationally accepted platform that includes the Messenger LENS (Lock Event Notification System) component, which transmits events to and from the lock in real time as they occur.
"Our focus has always been on making the guest experience wonderful," said Peter Wilde, general manager of The Townsend Hotel. "We are proud to partner with Saflok and offer our customers advanced technology and security, while maintaining the heritage and appeal of our elegant hotel," he emphasized.
