. Latin America was poorly positioned in the global report on Information and Communication Technologies presented by the World Economic Forum.This study analyzed 133 economies of the world in order to measure the impact of ICTs on the economic development and compatibility of nations.
The top positions of the 2009-2010 list are occupied by Sweden with a score of 5.65; second place goes to Singapore with 5.64; Denmark (5.54), Switzerland with 5.48; The United States ranked fifth with 5.46; Finland sixth (5.44), Canada scored 5.36, Hong Kong 5.33, Netherlands (5.32) and Norway ranked tenth with 5.22 points.
Latin countries appear from the 40th position with Chile which obtained a score of 4.13; followed by Puerto Rico at 45 with 4.07 and Costa Rica at 49 with 3.95; while Paraguay ranks 127th with 2.88 and Bolivia 131st, with a score of 2.68.
Uruguay and Panama ranked 57th and 58th respectively with the same score, 3.81; they are followed by Colombia in 60 and Brazil in 61 with 3.80. Mexico ranked 78th with 3.61, Argentina 91st and Peru 92nd, both with 3.38.
