United States. Since January 2010, Samsung Techwin and Samsung Electronics Video Security Products have joined their businesses into one. From now on customers will no longer see the names of Techwin and Electronics in the different lines of surveillance, as these will reach the market as Samsung Security products.Due to this union, Samsung Techwin America and GVI Security Solutions announced a strategic alliance to provide customers of the two companies with optimal security solutions. According to Pedro Duarte, vice president of sales for the Americas of Samsung Techwin, in a short time there will be a consolidation of the product line.
JW Ahn, president and CEO of Samsung Techwin America, says the combination of the two companies will increase Samsung's resources for electronic security in order to become an industry leader. "This will allow us to grow the video security products business and technology capabilities of both companies within a strong company focused on digital video security systems. We are working to increase sales and continue to provide service and satisfaction to customers," he adds.
GVI CEO Steve Walin says this is good news for video surveillance customers in America. He also explained that the name of Samsung GVI Security will change to Samsung Security and that in Latin America the company will serve the entire region with the exception of Argentina, Brazil and Chile, where both companies will continue to serve these markets together.
Duarte assures that this merger will allow the consolidation of the brand, as well as the increase of the quality and technological sophistication of the resources. "Under the new Samsung we plan to present more than 40 new products," he says.
