Taiwan. An IP video system that will monitor Taipei City will be provided by Vivotek and system integrator MiTAC. This solution will cover about 10,000 points throughout the town, including the police department, police stations and local stations.Previously the city had a CCTV that did not meet the expectations of the government due to poor image quality, analog data storage, and limitations in local infrastructure in terms of large-scale expansion of the system. Because of this, the government decided to upgrade the system to a digital surveillance system with advanced megapixel network cameras and video servers.
Signals from the cameras are stored on digital-capable devices and can be accessed remotely. Digitalization makes it possible to maintain vigilance in the city through any location and at all times. The quality of the images will help identify an object, such as the license plate of a vehicle, and can detect the number of people and vehicles. The video sequence is broadcast to police stations via the Internet to facilitate crime prevention and case investigation.
