United Kingdom. Intelligent video analytics technology is becoming more and more common in the security industry. However, until now there was no cost-effective or scalable solution, as the systems relied on central video processing software that increases server costs.Sony Professional, Milestone and Agent Vi have teamed up to create a "distributed architecture" solution combining Sony's DEPA architecture, Agent Vi's distributed architecture and video analytics algorithms, and Milestone's XProtect™ IP video management software. DEPA cameras process the video in the camera and transmit the metadata to the Agent Vi application, which is based on the concept of 'distributed architecture' and offers an engine and interface to manage the metadata created by the camera. The new system, based on Milestone's open XProtect Analytics 2.0 platform, manages and displays alarms transmitted by Sony/Agent Vi. The video management platform integrates and consolidates alarms from the combined systems and provides a complete operational workflow for the security operator.
