Colombia. Marcos Matias is now responsible for Schneider Electric's business in a larger Andean Region, as the one that was previously made up of Colombia, Ecuador and Venezuela is now expanding, with the integration of Bolivia and Peru.
Marcos Matias, is Brazilian and studied electronic engineering at Mackenzie University as well as an MBA in Marketing at Ibmec Business SChool.
At Schneider Electric, he joined in 2005 as Director of Equipment, Service and Projects and then became, in 2009, Vice President for Latin America of the Buildings Business Unit and since 2012, he began to occupy the position of Country President for the Andean Region, which is now expanded and strengthened with the entry of Peru and Bolivia.
"The Andean zone, as a business area of Schneider Electric, was created six years ago and is now strengthened by consolidating a block of synergies within the Andean Cluster made up of the five countries of the region, which make it the most important area after Brazil in South America," says Marcos Matias and adds: "The challenge now is to approach our customers, improving our offer of products and services, from the residential segment to solutions for food and beverage industries, data centers, among others, and taking advantage of the three production plants we have in Colombia that produce solutions for high and medium voltage as well as boards and gutters of our Dexon brand".
The Andean Zone market is healthy, with growth on average of between 3 and 4%, which makes it an attractive scenario for Schneider Electric's offer and products and services.
