Mexico. With the implementation of 36 new video surveillance cameras, the Secretariat of Citizen Security of Guadalajara hopes to reduce criminal acts, and together with the 105 that currently exist in the municipality, a monitoring system will be established from the Center for Communications and Electronic Observation (Cecoe).
These cameras, special in facial recognition and the reading of plates, will be located in the most important transit places and in the points of conflict identified by the Secretariat.
For Servando Sepúlveda Enríquez, Secretary of Citizen Security "with this system we hope to minimize crime in the 500 neighborhoods that the municipality has and provide greater support to the police operation."
Likewise, as part of the credit for security, which amounts to US$43 million, the municipal authorities contracted with the company Iusacell the installation of the networks of 650 new video surveillance equipment with the same characteristics, which will be located in 570 points of strategic areas, but will be inaugurated in September when the total integration of the system is achieved.
