Argentina. The Ministry of Citizen Security presented the installation of 190 security cameras in the cities of San Miguel de Tucumán and Yerba Buena, with an investment of more than US$30,000, within the framework of the Citizen Security Program that seeks to control crimes and contraventions in the south of Tucumán.Within the framework of this initiative, the government of Concepción is evaluating the installation of security cameras on the streets of the Argentine city, although their location and the number of devices to be installed are still unknown.
The government's intention is the prevention of crime, according to Edgardo Sánchez, prosecutor of the Judicial Center of the city, after his meeting with Eduardo Di Lella, Secretary of Security of Concepción. Sánchez added that "the crime rate is high, so I think security cameras would be a useful tool."
