Argentina. More than 200 security cameras will be placed in some localities of Quilmes, a district of the Province of Buenos Aires.The Undersecretary of Security, Orlando Segura, announced that the surveillance program has already begun the installation of the first cameras on the riverbank, and then continue with the towns of Bernal, Ezpeleta and Solano, in streets and avenues, as well as in train stations and buses. As a test, the administration put into operation two cameras in the center that are monitored 24 hours a day.
So far, Quilmes has 106 equipment already acquired of the 210 contemplated by the surveillance program, it is expected that for the second stage the 104 missing ones will be purchased, which will be placed in the towns of La Matera, Los Eucaliptos and Los Álamos.
This security project seeks to reduce robberies in shops and the prevention of vandalism in squares and public spaces.
