Costa Rica. Different establishments such as hotels, restaurants, shops and hospitals in San José de Costa Rica will join their surveillance cameras to the network of the Municipal Police.By means of a wireless connection the images will be sent, in real time, to the control center of the Police, for this purpose, the merchants must use a Wifi device and a technical platform of the Banco Popular.
In case of any incident that is detected by the cameras, the Municipal Police will send personnel to the indicated place. The images that arrive at the control center will be stored for a period of 120 days in case they are required by the victims of the criminal attacks.
Banco Popular has currently installed 10 cameras, four at its headquarters in San José and another six in branches in the capital, and expects to acquire another 10 by December.
The four cameras of the bank's main building, which allow the monitoring of some avenues of the city, are added to the four that the municipality placed in important sites and parks of the town.
