Mexico. More than 100 cameras and satellite information systems were installed at Merida International Airport, making this air terminal one of the safest in Mexico. Through the closed circuit surveillance, the runways, takeoff platforms, fuel area and interior corridors of the waiting room can be monitored, according to the regional director of Southeast Airports (Asur), Héctor Navarrete Muñoz.
Navarrete also stated that the air terminal has the most advanced technology in this type of security systems. The investment made will be repeated in other airports in the country, as Asur is carrying out a comprehensive modernization program in the terminals with the highest activity such as Cancun (international), Veracruz and Villahermosa (regional).
