Brazil. In the period between October 2006 and the same month of 2007, Internet access in Brazilian households increased by 43.7%, reaching 30.1 million users according to a study conducted by the local consultancy Ibope/NetRatings.
Likewise, the AFP agency said that Internet access in this country is available to 16% of the households of the 187.2 million inhabitants, and at a general level access to the network in schools, libraries, homes, computer centers, workplaces, and Internet cafes reached 39 million in the third quarter of the year, 21% more than last year where 32 million were counted.
With these figures, Brazil surpasses several developed countries in Internet connection time, since in October the average browsing was 23 hours and 12 minutes per residential user.
