Residential, commercial and industrial protection: it is corresponding to the interior or exterior protection of homes, closed neighborhoods or country clubs, shops, warehouses or warehouses, industrial plants, etc.
by Basilio Angel Holowczak*
They use all kinds of indoor intrusion detectors and if external protection is required, only outdoor anti-pet detectors or active infrared barriers mounted at a height of 0.90 to 1.4mts should be used. of the ground so that they detect an intruder from that height, avoiding the detection of traffic or wandering outside of cats or dogs of their own, neighbors or abandoned.
Consider that the intruder can not break a door or window lying on the ground to do this must stop and when it does it will be detected, in addition the type of residential intrusion is not carried out with body to ground advance, raneando, through underground tunnels or through hot air balloons (the intruder in this type of application advances standing very slowly and stealthily or with fear, because he does not know if he will receive a shot from a window, he prowls very slowly the surroundings of the house to decide where he will enter, either by violating a door, window, etc., and deciding which will be the entrance that will produce less noise when violating it).
Indoors you can not steal anything by crawling on the floor you should always stop. In this protection if the detection of the body to ground advance outdoors is used, the owner of the system at a short time calls the installer to cancel this type of detection for false shots that do not let him sleep.
Note that the interior protection on the other hand uses in its great majority for this level the total detection or even the advance body to ground and also alternatively the antipet or anti-masks inside.
The owner must have the advantage provided by the exterior protection of his house, early detection and NOT when the thief is inside his house and that prevents the intentional breaking of doors and windows or the introduction through open windows of nozzles expels gases to sleep its occupants and then enter the interior of the house and steal. Residential exterior protection prevents costly repairs from intentional breakage of doors and windows.
Applying the correct criteria the owner will feel protected, safe and compliant when the outdoor detector activates an alarm to announce only the advances or movements of an intruder and not pets in the outer adjacencies of his house, the adequate external detection will allow to take the countermeasures in time of the case to counteract the intruder.
The above will allow the seller to give an adequate response to an inadequate request from the residential interested party who requests that he wishes to detect the intruder crawling body to ground. Residential intrusion is not carried out body to ground like the escape from a prison or the attack on a military unit, as well as the absence of residential intrusion by carrying out underground or aerial tunnels through hot air balloons or helicopters.
Those who do NOT know about security will also tell you that a barrier is useless because they can pass under it or jump it, to this answer that the barrier can detect the body to ground installing it at low ground height, or making a stacking of 4 barrier of 4 beams forming a curtain that can reach up to 3 meters. of floor height, but this is not conducive to applying for external security in your case (residential use).
In addition, the barriers are the best to detect body to ground outdoors, because a back to back installation of them detect the body to ground at zero distance from the transmitter and the receiver and in the entire length of its protection distance, which is not obtained for example with microwaves which to be able to detect the body to ground throughout the length of the protection zone is they must overlap to achieve this total protection of the body to earth throughout the length of the areas to be protected, thus increasing and for such coverage the amount of microwaves to be used, which does not happen with the barriers
In the rest of applications in this level of residential exterior protection, as there is no double fence, double fence or double perimeter wall, which prevents the movements of animals within the protection diagram of the exterior detectors, it must be followed or worth what has already been indicated to protect the exterior of houses (use of antipets installed at a height of 0.90 to 1.4 meters from the ground).
In Industrial Plants, Closed Neighborhoods apply the same criterion to the exposed and in them it is very useful to support the main perimeter detection system with the help of a secondary CCTV system to verify the nature of the zonal alarms, even in important residences this complement is installed.
In all cases the presence of outdoor detectors can be camouflaged (location between masts, bushes, special masonry, etc. However, some end users prefer that outdoor detectors are visible as deterrents since their breakage or removal also produces the alarm.
The basis of an exterior detection project in an Industrial Plant or Closed Neighborhood, must be the guard is asleep and before an alarm he wakes up, he is not in a position to operate anything, consequently the system must automatically show him the two TV cameras that allow him to fully visualize and verify the nature of a zonal alarm throughout its length and verify if it was caused by a person really or just for a dog, horse or the blowing up of a cardboard box, thus avoiding uncertainty and also running the risk of his life to leave the surveillance post to verify at a distance the reason for the alarm.
Industrial sector
In industrial plants, sub-transformer stations, communications repeaters, transmitting plants, places with passages of high voltage overhead lines, use only detectors with high EMI rejection index (Electromagnetic or radio frequency interference) and cable installations with shielding and good grounding of the same, the latter is valid for any type of protection whether it is an indoor or outdoor installation. Always and any type of alarm installation must use multi-pair telephone cable with electrostatic screen or similar, that is, cable with shielding and connect it to a single point of ground.
Current trends at this level
The use of outdoor passives with unlimited tolerance of pets of one or two heads is increasingly frequent, however it should be noted that although these offer unlimited tolerance of pets will be triggered if a bird passes near the head or lens of the detector which does not happen with photoelectric or infrared barriers, note in addition to the use of photoelectrics to protect exteriors their use to protect indoor environments of houses located in places with very high ambient or atmospheric temperature (Caribbean Coast, North South America and Central America), since photoelectrics tolerate high temperatures better and detect intrusion in such very hot environments without problems, where the interior volumetric detectors of single, double or triple technology, with temperature compensation, anti-masking and anti-pet or anti-pet stop detecting or firing falsely in such interiors with high temperature.
It is also worth mentioning that also in interiors of large sheds with a sheet metal roof and therefore their interior with very high temperature, such as their roof with a not well sealed contour where birds, bats, etc. enter and go down and then rise, the use of double-beam exterior photoelectric barriers to protect these critical interiors is increasingly noticeable (very high temperature and presence of bird flights, mice and cats that enter through gates with lots of floor light).
Note that the outer barriers inside such sheds can be used at three times the distance specified for outdoors (a 30-meter outdoor two-beam barrier can be used indoors to protect 90 meters), note that this will not be affected by high temperatures nor will it be falsely triggered by descending and ascending flights of birds, presence of cats and mice, since their two beams must be intercepted simultaneously to create the alarm condition and since indoors the interception time of their beams can be adjusted to the lowest end they will still tolerate a cat hanging in front or rubbing its transmitter or receiver valid also for residential exterior protection if the beams of the barriers travel parallel and near the openings to be protected, this is only tolerable by this type of detection technology (double or four-beam photoelectrics) since by their nature the 2- and 4-beam photoelectric barriers are anti-pet as well as anti-masking, notice no manufacturer that offers barriers of 2 or 4 anti pet or antimasking beams, because these were born with such qualities, or they are like that by nature.
The volumetric already indicated and still anti-pets, it is reiterated will be triggered falsely by nearby passages of bird flights in front of their heads or presence of mice in high stowage near their detection heads and will also offer the possibility that they do not detect due to the high interior temperatures of such sheds. Locate the barriers in such sheds along the x of the central corridor and several transversely, the intruder lifts any sheet metal from the ceiling, goes down to the floor and walks through all the stowage to see what will be carried and will be detected in its movements by the barriers, no evasion of detection was recorded in interiors protected by barriers. There are some sheds with additional protection of the outer contour of their roofs or terraces with exterior barriers.
Note that the residential use in interiors of standard interior volumetrics (No-Antipet) these detect the body to ground advance of an intruder or even the movements of a mouse so they respect the level of high protection.
Banking protection
It stands out for the use of indoor detectors similar to those indicated above for Residential Protection but adding the anti-masking quality of them, due to the requirements of banking security regulations. They also use seismic detectors to protect vaults, treasures, safes and ATMs.
Current trends at this level
It is increasingly common to use antimasking flame detectors located in front of treasure doors or vaults, in internal environments with safes of their customers and in public ATMs, since flame detectors will detect both the flame of thermal spears, as well as all types of welders and also the sparks of metal cutting grinders used to make holes or cuts to open or reach the inside of the same with the intention of stealing their contents.
Takex has UV detectors of interior flame UL listed model FS-2000 E with the additional use of the optional base antimasking BP-150AE (order the two items for the antimasking achievement), seismic detectors or shock sensors are also used for the indicated protection. Takex has these seismic detectors but only to protect metal surfaces and not for the protection of walls or detect shocks on them.
High-security protection
This level is used exclusively in Military Plants and Prisons or Penitentiaries of High Level of Security and requires by its own security regulations the imperative detection of intruders or escapes of prisoners crawling body to ground, crawling or raneando. That is why these facilities have in all cases to enable such types of detection (practically at ground or floor level) with double Olympic perimeter fence to create a strip of isolation against the presence and movements of wild animal life or crossing of animals within it and also the terrain of said internal strip is flattened and filled with granite to prevent the growth of grass or plants that interfere within the protection diagram of the different external detectors used.
Takex has for this application microwaves - combined (microwave / infrared barriers) - intelligent external barriers of 4 beams and the PB-IN-100AT anti-crawl barrier and 4 frequencies for 100 meters which establishes the alarm condition, whether it is intercepted only its 2 lower beams or its 2 upper beams and placed 15 cms. from the floor and as the first barrier or lower of a stacked assembly of 2, 3 or 4 smart barriers (top barriers 2, 3 and 4 are the smart ones of the PB-IN-100HF series). Microwaves are also used in overlapping assembly, to ensure body-to-ground detection throughout the length of the soil of the protected area and of 2 different frequencies (L and H) that avoid mutual interference between them.
In these facilities, TV cameras are used as a secondary perimeter system to verify nature remotely or from the checkpoint. reason or reason for an alarm.
Current trends at this level
There has been a marked increase in the use of intelligent outdoor infrared active barriers in stacked assembly for the protection of the facilities within this level, for reasons of better cost and better operation compared to other outdoor detection technologies. This happens because the beams can cross perimeter tissues that act as an internal division, as well as detect the body to ground at zero distance from the transmitter and the receiver not requiring the overlapping of detectors that demand other detection techniques and with it less amount of equipment.
Anti-terrorist protection
This level is the one with the greatest protection today, it appears only in the 90s and requires avoiding the proximity of the car bomb or that it crashes on the contour of the exterior walls of the protected building. To do this, it uses large and solid reinforced concrete pillars or pots that are concatenated all of them by an underground reinforced concrete platform, to increase their solidity against vehicular impacts and with separation distances between them less than the width of any car. The vehicular entrances of these buildings use for this reason not lifting barriers but lifting platforms far from it that prevent the unauthorized access of vehicles to it and the car bomb will crash on said lifting platform or on the container masonry (pots, pillars) near the cordon of the sidewalk. Notice the distance of the pillars, pots and lifting platform of the building since if the car bomb crashes against them it will produce much less damage than if it did it on the same exterior walls of the building protected against terrorism. The protections, controls and detectors indicated for the other levels are added at this level, as well as the use of CCTV.
Conclusion and final recommendation
Do not mix levels of protection for the security applications indicated, use only the level only necessary and sufficient or indicated for each type of application. Professional security experts will offer and substantiate only the use of the necessary and sufficient level of protection for each of the above applications, if you intend to exceed the correct levels of protection by more or less than your correct level do not doubt that you will get only problems and an unwanted or harmful result for you, company and for its customer or end user of the system provided with v/part.
Consider that the siren and bell of external alarms is not for the neighbor or the police to hear but is directed only to the intruder, this with external noise in all cases leaves the property and does not steal anything unless he is drugged and persists in his attempt.
It is very convenient that these external sound elements are of the self-powered type to avoid their cancellation due to cable cuts or fraudulent removal of the alarm center. Locate such exterior sound elements in a high place, since no intruder carries a ladder to annul them.
We reiterate before an objection of a future client who states that a barrier or an external antipet passive does not detect the advance body to ground, respond to it that the intruder will always stand up to break a window or door or steal inside a house, consequently invalidate such opinions from people who do not know how to adequately protect each place outside avoiding false alarms, Also indicate that the barriers detect body to ground if they are installed at a height for such a type of detection as there are exterior volumetrics for full detection but that this is not used in outdoor residential detection.
All people have common criteria to accept and fully understand the concepts that have been poured into this work, also do not doubt that they will accept this criterion or advice on residential exterior detection, we do not doubt that they will benefit the entire guild in general and fundamentally all end users of external electronic security systems.
