Video surveillance and access control in corporate

We present a case where comprehensive security solutions were installed in a corporate building.

By Hikvision

Residential, industrial, commercial, government, banking and even sports buildings have, despite their different purposes, something in common: the need for protection.

A corporate building, headquarters of a single company or several involves a daily transit of people which needs to be classified in order to be able to grant authorization to certain places, since the staff working in any of the companies in the building will have greater mobility than those who come as customers.

Protection and a high level of security were the key factors for Oficinas Durango, a Mexican company dedicated to providing professional administration and maintenance services for all real estate facilities and corporate buildings, to implement it in one of the buildings it manages, located at Durango 263, Colonia Roma in Mexico City.

Situation
This management company needed the property to have a comprehensive security system that would help strengthen surveillance services, adapting to the needs of the building.

"The operation of a building, how its resources are used, the monitoring of its systems and especially the safety of its tenants are some of the daily responsibilities of a building manager. It is a management that needs to be done correctly in order to maintain quality and safety in the services we provide to the more than 850 employees in Durango 263, "says Dulce María Becerra, administrator of the condominium and Manager of Administration of Durango Offices.

For a safe environment
In Durango 263, a complete, robust and reliable system was required to provide a service of security and excellence to preserve a protected environment.

After studying and analyzing the different options in the market, the executive says that they decided on Hikvision's video surveillance and access control equipment, whose implementation was carried out by the integrator 3Networks.

To cover all the requirements that Oficinas Durango requested in the property he manages, Ramon López Martínez, Technology Director of 3Networks provided an absolutely reliable system, manufactured with components of the highest quality and easy to use and install, always betting on generating disruptive models in technology.

For a systemic solution
The project was worked on in two stages. According to Ramón López, the first consisted of the location of 42 Hikvision cameras to identify and deter criminals (MODELO - DS-2CD2085FWD-I), placed in common areas, corridors, elevators, parking, and main accesses. In addition, the monitoring service was also included throughout the building, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, inside and outside the usual hours.

But each security project has its own particularities, and access control is no exception. That is why the second stage required an access control system that would allow maintaining a secure environment through protected access.

"An access control system provides many utility and service advantages, some of which are linked to integration with all elements of the system. That is why the Durango Office Administration wanted their system to allow them to guarantee security and friendly operation."

He adds that the following Hikvision equipment, designed to detect unauthorized inputs and outputs, were used. In coordination with the access control system, a person can authenticate and pass through the lane by swiping their ID card or face:

• DS-K3B601-L/MPg-Dp90
• DS-K3B601-M/MPg-Dp90
• DS-K3B601-R/MPg-Dp90
• DS-K3B601-L/M-Dp90
• DS-K3B601-R/M-Dp90
• HikCentral-VSS-Base/4Ch
• HikCentral-ACS-Base/2Door
• HikCentral-ACS-1Door

Creating a "culture of safety"
It is clear that in a company where physical access control systems are a novelty, not all users will be satisfied with the new way of entering, but in less than three weeks, the tenants of Durango 263 adapted to these new security tools.

Today, Dulce María Becerra recognizes that video surveillance and access control are effective and vital solutions to provide security in work environments and personal spaces: "Without a doubt, new resources and integral solutions have helped us to prevent, especially to guarantee complete security within the Durango 263 Buildings. We are very happy with Hikvision's solutions and the service provided by 3Networks. We hope to continue in other projects in the medium term. For now, we have plans to exploit 100% what we have," he concludes.
