The private security industry is living in a time when new professionals are approaching our industry with greater knowledge.

In recent months practically all the news in the different written, spoken and televised media of the world have revolved around the already monothematic topic of COVID-19, analyzed from all imaginable and even unimaginable points of view, most of the time giving negative and sometimes apocalyptic perspectives.
There is a reality that this situation has destroyed all the studies and plans of security, contingency, business continuity and other activities that security specialists carry out to be prepared in case of situations that nobody wants to occur, being the current pandemic situation one of those situations, with the aggravating factor that no one, from governments to micro enterprises, I was prepared for the measures that have had to be adopted in each country according to the asymmetric realities that different countries had in terms of health policies, hospital infrastructure and economic reserves to face the containment of the results of the pandemic.
The security industry has not been oblivious to this situation with the cancellation of multiple events in different countries, the affectation of members with the disease and the unfortunate death of some private security workers from its different branches.
On the other side of the coin where crises generate opportunities we find several aspects that are the ones that we would like to address in this article.
In the first place is the effort of the manufacturers and distributors to advance their R & D projects to make available to users more advanced temperature taking solutions to the existing ones, contactless access controls and high security in identification combining with artificial intelligence and face recognition, control of presence and occupation in closed premises, and other novelties that we will undoubtedly be seeing born and grow in the coming months.
The second aspect is the enormous variety and massiveness of virtual events of free assistance that have been made available to security professionals and that has brought together the branches of physical security, electronic security and cybersecurity in a global confluence for the integration of personal and patrimonial security systems, and that it has given the opportunity to prepare, update and train in the known disciplines and new ones to many security workers whether they work directly or indirectly in it.
The third aspect and not because it is the last is the least important, is the irruption in these virtual events of a fairly large group of young professionals from different disciplines, who are undoubtedly natives of the new information and communication technologies and that without this situation of virtual massiveness possibly we would have taken longer to discover their qualities, knowledge and potential; at the same time we have been able to have access to excellent conferences of renowned exhibitors who in the "old normal" we had to know their presentations only in person.
This amalgam of well-known and novice professionals in the world of conferences has given way to a synergy that is very accelerated by the famous generational change that generally took longer to take place.
This situation augurs an enrichment of the profession especially in terms of sharing experiences, knowledge and creating new synergies in trade union organizations and in events that are organized in the future, which carries a share of responsibility on the part of the members of this new generation destined to take over and direction of the industry, and is that along with the preparation of virtual presentations they have to start their writings in columns such as this magazine or others that currently exist in the industry, as well as dedicate time and space to create thematic content in books, whether they are physically edited in the future or edited for virtual dissemination.
Undoubtedly, this "positive" part that this pandemic is leaving us must be fed, cared for and developed.
