Alarms - Level 2

Objective

Establish a medium to advanced level of knowledge for professionals and technicians who already have the basic knowledge acquired at level 1 in order to advance in their professional training. It should be borne in mind that this is a professional training course that is designed to complete and expand knowledge, because it dictates topics related to much more advanced concepts in the design, installation and maintenance of alarm systems.

A. Participants:

This certification program is aimed at: Executives, Technical, Operations and Sales Managers, Sales and Technician Supervisors, Salespeople and Technicians It is recommended for people who have at least 6 months of experience with the approved Level 1 Alarm program.
The main focus and goals of this program is the effective application of devices based on the design from the point of view of risks, but always focused on the reduction of false alarms.

B. Duration:

16 academic hours and 2 final exam hours.

C. Accreditation or Certification

This course gives those who pass the Final Exam, an WINGS certificate. People who do not pass the exam receive a diploma of attendance. It is possible to take the course again, to repeat the exam and get the certificate. For this, you can contact [email protected]. People who repeat the course must pay 50% of the value established to date.

The Prerequisite is to have completed and approved the Alarm Technician level 1 program of ALAS - CANASA at least 3 months before.

E. Didactic Course

E.1 Methodology:

Lectures with PowerPoint presentation, group discussions, hands-on work led. Active participation is requested. The trainee is free to ask questions relevant to the topics presented and the participant is encouraged to share his or her ideas and experiences with the instructors and other participants. A didactic manual will be given to the students at the time of entering the program.

E.2 Content:

This level consists of seven Folders or sections:

1: Covers cable laying supervision using:
Single End-of-Line Resistor, Dual End-of-Line Resistor, One Multiplex Circuit, One Hig – Low Circuit

2: Wireless Components and Applications.
It covers The Global Appreciation of Wireless Communication, The Fundamental Concepts Frequency, Wavelength, Energy, Antenna Technologies. As well as application of Controls and devices.

3: Tickets
It covers High Security contacts, Special application contacts, High security detectors Special sensors, Outdoor detection sensors.

4 : Departures
It covers the application of outputs, including switched relays and outputs, common applications of programmable outputs, as well as an auxiliary power supply and power calculations. A review of the most common advanced features of control panels is offered, including: Partition, Event Buffer, Automation in X10 Two-Way Audio, No Activity, Phone Interface, Automatic Assembly, Crime Signals, Upload/Download Information.

5 : Communications:
Differentiate between Supervised and Unsupervised Communications, Monitoring Methods, Redundant Reporting, Supervised Communications vs. Supervised Communications. Redundant Communications, Communications with cellular backup cellular control form of report, fast formats of digital communicators, IP Communications and applications.

6: System design.
Reviews the S302 standard from the Canadian ULC Test Laboratory
On the installation of security systems for commercial facilities.

7 : Solving Fault Analytics.
Global appreciation of Troubleshooting, Tools Required for Effective Fault Location and Resolution, Troubleshooting Faults -Where to Start?, Device Fault Solving, Control Fault Solving, Communications Failures. Case studies.

About the instructor

Carlos Guzmán Díaz is an international security consultant and specialist in the integration of electronic security systems, with a specialization in project engineering. He has been a consultant for more than 20 years in areas of: preparation of risk studies and plans for disaster situations, security studies and risk analysis, among others. Throughout his professional career Mr. Guzmán has held managerial positions in the technical and vocational training area. He currently serves as Training Coordinator of the Latin American Security Association (ALAS), giving training courses in all Latin American countries.
