Violet Code: the app that fights gender violence
Código Violeta, is the application and communication platform specially developed to combat gender violence. The app allows women to report acts of gender-based violence to public and private monitoring centers easily and quickly with multiple control and management functions. Código Violeta focuses on 4 axes of action, seeks a comprehensive approach to situations of gender violence through prevention, monitoring, assistance and access to justice.
The first axis, which is that of prevention, is made up of a set of tools that empower women and allow them to exercise different prevention actions based on a system of passive-active alerts that allow them to obtain information in advance and act in time in different situations of insecurity or violence. All alerts sent through the smartphone will be received at the monitoring center that operates 24 hours a day via the internet or SMS to be attended by the operators immediately. These events will be accompanied by the GPS position of the smartphone and it will be shown to the operator with a map for quick location of the victim. Another of the important axes that The Violet Code has is the monitoring and assistance, with the panic button allows the user to report an emergency where their life or physical integrity is in danger. The SOS button reports its location to the monitoring center and allows the user to attach photos, audios, video and texts of the moment of the emergency or aggression. The request for assistance from the App allows the woman to have a direct communication channel to request assistance either for health problems, psychological containment or of any nature that the institution defines. In cases of gender violence, the role of justice is important, we witness that the times in which the events occur are not the same with which Justice executes its actions. Código Violeta comes to change this reality, putting in the hands of Justice the tools for a digital transformation in the processes and improvement of response times.
