The Xtralis OSID open area smoke detector is an innovative reliable smoke detection system for large and open spaces.
In its simplest configuration, the OSID uses an image analyzer (receiver) camera-like device with a wide field of view, and a wired or battery-powered transmitter (transmitter) aligned roughly on the opposite wall of the protected area.
The emitter sends coded signals of infrared and ultraviolet light to the image analyzer. If the reception of light is disturbed due to the presence of smoke particles, the image analyzer will go into alarm.
Benefits include:
• Maximum detection range up to 150 m (492 ft)
• LED that signals fire, problems and power
• Easy alignment and 3D viewing angles
• Simple DIP switch configuration
• Smoke detection based on dual wavelength LED light (Dual Technology)
• Very simple maintenance
• Conventional alarm interface for simple fire system integration
• Configurable alarm thresholds
• Diagnostic tools
• High tolerance to vibrations, movement of buildings and high air circulation.
• Reliable discrimination between real smoke and other agents such as dust, steam, or beam interruptions by birds, insects, or forklifts.
